    今天微软在其网站上放出了 Virtual Server 2005 标准版的预发行版本（Virtual Server 2005 Standard Edition  Release Candidate），新版本的主要特性和更新有：增强的安全性，SCSI的支持，增强的大内存支持，全局资源页面，全球化支持，命名密码认证服务，集群支持，虚拟DHCP服务配置等等。
    不再支持的特性有：VNC支持，驱动器格式化功能，性能计数器等等。
    目前支持的服务器操作系统有：
    - Windows Server 2003 标准版*，企业版* 和数据中心版*
    - Windows Server Small Business Server 2003 Standard*/Premium Edition*
    - Windows XP Professional
